ACLU Chico Chapter Annual Spectacular

The ACLU Chico Chapter, in conjunction with the Wildcat Civil Liberties Union, will host its annual event on Friday, January 30, at 4:30 pm at Common Grounds, downstairs in the BMU, Rm 008.  In addition to a (brief) election of officers, the event this year will feature a very exceptional speaker, Aundre Herron, a criminal law attorney and professor with a master's degree in African-American studies who has handled many death penalty cases personally.  She is active with anti-death penalty organizations, with the ACLU, and with the group, Murder Victims Families for Reconciliation.  Having lost family members of her own to the "homicide epidemic" in America, Professor Herron has a unique perspective on issues of race and the criminal justice system in our country.

This free event should not be missed.  Appetizers provided.  For more information, contact Greg Burton, 228-8356.

When you donate, you're not just supporting the music and news you love—you’re helping preserve independent media that reflects your community, uplifts local voices, and shares stories commercial outlets often ignore.
