12pm "Ayurveda, Breast Massage & the Lymphatic System" with Sheyna Holmes

"On the elemental foundations of Ayurveda and how deep lymphatic massage can help keep the body balanced and flowing. We are constantly in a dance of balancing within us the seasons and what is present in our bodies. We can use the concept of hot, cold, wet and dry to see where we are on that spectrum and make choices in our daily habits to bring balance. These elements also show up in the lymph nodes, which are part of our immune system! We can massage these lymphatic channels and nodes to optimize hydration, nutrient delivery, proper detox and immunity throughout our bodies. Lymphatic breast massage is part of this work due to the large amount of lymph in the breast tissue and armpits. This science of life and elemental medicine is available and accessible to everyone!" - Sheyna Homes is bringing Ayurveda and elemental balancing to Chico through bodywork focusing on the lymph, breasts and belly. She has been studying herbalism and holistic healing for 15 years and Ayurveda for over 6 years. She is passionate about being of service, providing nourishment & deep relaxation to the community. She offers Ayurvedic Health Counseling, Breast & Abdominal massage, Lymphatic bodywork and Ayurvedic treatments. Offerings are held at her home in lower Forest Ranch. 2pm "Choose your mind and you can choose your life" Guillaume Marchisseau, CHt

"Self practice is essential because our minds are subjected daily to a quantity of subconscious inputs, some of them chosen purposefully by individuals unaware of our inner desires. Choosing what we let in to impact our subconscious is paramount to walk our own path. The power of self practice being that we are the most suggestible to ourselves. Being under the influence of our thoughts thousands of times a day, there are tremendous benefits in choosing them. In a short presentation with exercises, we will discover and practice: How does the subconscious operate compared to the conscious mind, General types of suggestibility, What the subconscious can 'hear' or 'ignore' & Self induction and focusing techniques." - Guillaume Marchisseau helps his clients change themselves through a range of subconscious techniques, mainly hypnotherapy. Coming from a background as a computer engineer his approach is to view the subconscious as building blocks of the persona, that can be chosen and adjusted to find the desired outcome into someone's conscious life. The essence is to give the tools so the mind can be nurtured and mastered the same way that an artist or artisan learns to use his hands. Guillaume is also a Yoga Instructor, bringing him a holistic view on ways to allow for change.

3pm "Food Is Medicine" with Luisa Garza

"Talk about wild crafting with care, growing and processing herbs, how food is medicine, that western medicine originated from herbal lore, observation and experience. How common weeds and plants are all around us in most environments. Also, there are many ways to use plants from infusions, salves to ferments as well as the responsibility of wild crafting and quality of ingredients." - Luisa Garza grew up in a magical land that opened my mind and heart to the natural world of Mother Nature. I grew up in Yosemite N.P. and was also influenced by my two older brothers who studied Botany and Ornamental Horticulture (OH). Plus I always heard stories of my deceased Aunt Hortensia who was an amazing gardener and I thrived on those stories. I have a Bachelor of Science in OH from CSU Chico. My first garden ever was in Chico in 1979 and thereafter I learned canning, drying, and using herbs for healing and cooking.  Since then I've grown into wild crafting with care, growing and processing herbs. I rely on intuition and experimentation, studying books and taking classes to continue learning. It helps to always maintain curiosity.

A special thank you to each of these presenters for sharing their skills with the community at KZFR's Touch of Chico 2025.
