RIP Firmilian You will be greatly missed

"It is with great sadness that we announce Firmilian (O Gentle Light co-host) has departed this life on January 21, 2019.  He is now buried at St. Herman's monastery in Platina, CA. Janet and I first met Firmilian in late 2005 when Fr. Nicodemus introduced us.  Shortly thereafter he started helping with the show and went on to get certified about a year later. As one of the monks commented at the burial, he really became the voice of the show for a long time. Firmilian fulfilled the Apostle Paul's saying on bearing one another's burdens very fervently each and every day with all the strength he had. He loved everyone and was loved back. He would help no matter how bad he felt if he could. This is what made him so special.  He embraced orthodoxy later in life and was very devoted to his faith ever since he converted. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him." ~ George Whitlock, KZFR programmer and O Gentle Light co-host

Firmilian's co-hosts did a special show on Jan 29, 2019 from the Panakhida which is a memorial service for the reposed in honor of him. You can listen to it in the Archive.

Over thirty 5th grade students from Chico Country Day School were on Ecotopia recently talking about their work fundraising for Walk 4 Water, a project that promotes clean water infrastructure and new wells in Uganda.
