Neighborhood Tree Planting

Neighborhood Tree Planting

Join BEC Saturday, November 10 for our first of three neighborhood tree plantings. Thanks to a new grant from California Releaf and with your help we are going to add 100 trees to Chico's urban forest!

Why plant trees? There are many reasons to have a thriving urban forest. Here are just a few:

clean the air
filter storm runoff
provide a beneficial cooling effect
increase property values
save electricity
save water used to produce electricity

Funding for this California Climate Investments grant project has been provided through California ReLeaf and the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), Urban and Community Forestry Program.

When you donate, you're not just supporting the music and news you love—you’re helping preserve independent media that reflects your community, uplifts local voices, and shares stories commercial outlets often ignore.
