DISABILITY ACTION CENTER FUNDRAISER

APRIL 22, 2017, DOWNTOWN CHICO

To support and broaden services offered for individuals with disabilities, their families and the community

The Disability Action Center is planning a benefit walk Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 in the downtown Chico City Plaza. Registration will start at 9:00am and the walk will begin at 10am. 

A Kick-Off Luncheon for the Benefit Walk will be held Friday, April 11, 2017 at noon at the Disability Action Center located at 1161 East Avenue. Everyone interested in being a team captain during the walk are invited to enjoy our complimentary luncheon. Our goal is to get as MANY consumers and their families; as well as community members there as POSSIBLE! 

CREATE A TEAM with your friends, family, co-workesrs and neighbors - REGISTER TODAY or the day of the walk! In addition; we still have spaces for TABLING in our resource fair; if your agency is interested please inquire.

The purpose of the event is to 1. Increase public awareness about disabilities and the ways in which these disabilities impact the lives of millions of Americans and their families. According to the U.S. Census Bureau in 2016, 72.5 million Americans live with varying degrees of disabilities. In California, according to the U.S. Census Bureau 6.8 percent of Californians under 65 live with a disabilities; in Butte County that is 12.5 percent. AND, 2. To raise much-needed dollars to help fund the wide array of DAC support, education, and advocacy programs.
