Dances of Universal Peace aka Sufi Dancing

Location: Subud Hall East 12th St
  • 7:00pm Saturday, March 22, 2014
The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, meditative, and uplifting group dances. They honor many of the world's spiritual traditions. By weaving simple movement with singing of sacred phrases and mantras, the dances help create peace and unity within and without. The American mystic Samuel Lewis originated these dances 30 years ago as part of his vision of “Peace through the Arts.” Some traditions represented are Sufi, Buddhist, Hindu, Zoroastrian, Christian, Jewish, Islamic, Goddess, Celtic, Native American, and Universalist.
