Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Medicare

Happy Birthday Medicare: Butte County Will Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Medicare
Come celebrate Medicare’s five decades of success with birthday cake, ice cream, and music.

For half a century Medicare has provided seniors and persons with disabilities with guaranteed health care. The Medicare 50th Birthday Committee, a coalition of local organizations, invites all to celebrate Medicare’s 50th Birthday.  The committee will present three events planned for Chico, Oroville, and Paradise.

The celebration with birthday cake will happen in Paradise on Tues, July 28, from 8-11 a.m. at the Paradise Farmers Market, located on 6491 Clark Rd.  Donations are welcome.

An Ice Cream Social in Oroville is set for Thursday, July 30, from 5-7 p.m., at the Southside Oroville Community Center, located on 2959 Lower Wyandotte Rd. Attendees can expect live entertainment, speakers, and the showing of “The Healthcare Movie.” Donations are welcome.

The Medicare Birthday finale will happen in Chico on Sat, Aug 1, from 7:30 a.m. – 12 noon, at the Chico Farmers Market, located on East 2nd Street. Festivities will include: speakers, music, cake, and educational material. Donations are welcome.
