KZFR Awarded General Operating Support Grant from the California Arts Council

We are proud to announce that KZFR 90.1 FM, operated by Golden Valley Community Broadcasters, has been awarded a $22,200 General Operating Support grant from the California Arts Council (CAC). This critical support helps us continue our mission to uplift local voices, promote arts and culture, and provide essential information across the North State.

The funding from this grant will strengthen KZFR’s community-driven efforts in the coming year, including:

  • Producing original public affairs programming and podcasts

  • Supporting youth broadcasting education and volunteer training

  • Enhancing multilingual outreach and emergency alert systems

  • Showcasing music, arts, and culture from Northern California and around the world

We thank the California Arts Council for recognizing the impact of community radio and the important role KZFR plays in the cultural life of our region.

Stay tuned for updates on the projects this grant makes possible — and thank you for continuing to support independent, listener-powered media.
