THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED - Congratulations to Hannah Jane Kile for winning KZFR's 5th Annual Celebration of the Song Showcase!

The 2014 Finalists for KZFR's 5th Annual Celebration of the Song are... DAN CASAMAJOR, HANNAH JANE KILE & ERIN FRIEDMAN!! Congratulations to the finalists and thank you to all who entered. We had lots of wonderful entries and the decisions were difficult. The finalists play in the SHOWCASE at Sierra Nevada Brewery Big Room on June 4th, tickets $12, available at the SNB Gift Shop and the KZFR office in downtown Chico. They will also play Friday, July 11th, 2014 at California WorldFest in Grass Valley. Each receives a gift certificate from Music Connection. Thanks again!

Dan Casamajor has been playing guitar and writing songs since the 1960s.  Influenced by the folk-music revival, its folk-rock offshoots (especially Dylan and Paul Simon), and the Beatles, he considers his style to be acoustic-electric country-folk-rock with a sense of humor, mixing mirth with meaningful lyrics and accessible, lively tunes.
"No Such Thing" -

Hannah Jane Kile was raised around folk, blues, and jazz influences, constantly being introduced to new musicians and styles of music. Hannah started playing the guitar at the age of fourteen and has been hard at work ever since, later picking up the mountain Dulcimer and the Banjo. Hannah's vocals resemble performers such as Bonnie Raitt and Norah Jones. She loves to share her music and stories of songwriting with her audiences.
"Sunnyside" -

Erin Friedman plays with words, music and the truth, hanging out on the corner where traditional country meets modern folk. Erin teams with her husband, bass player and vocalist, Craig Friedman, to form the duo Still Married.
