For Black History Month, American Pastimes features The Ebony Hillbillies, a contemporary string band from New York City. Also on the broadcast is the old Mississippi guitar/fiddle duo of Narmour & Smith who made a few recordings in the late 1920's (and who were instrumental in getting their friend Mississippi John Hurt his first record contract!). There's also jug bands and some blues-inspired bluegrass and old tyme music.
