Marysville, CA-  Film maker and surfing historian Eric Jordan concludes his month-long gallery showing with a viewing of a portion of his documentary film, “Paving the Wave,” on Saturday, June 29 at 6:30pm. Eric directed and produced this film that chronicles the history of surfing on the East and West Coast of the United States, Hawaii and Mexico. He spent 7 years of his life traveling and meeting surf legends from the 50s and 60s to capture hundreds of hours of video tape in which he interviewed the men and women who were instrumental in the incorporation of the surfing attitude, clothing, slang, music, activities and objects like long boards, boogie boards and the wet suit, which we now associate with being a surfer.

Eric has also invited as his special guest to the closing reception, one of the most prolific surfers and business men to immerge from the waves, Duke Boyd, who is most notably know for founding Hang Ten. Hang Ten is the first company to design and produce clothing for surfers and its lifestyle.  For more information about his contribution to surfing go to his web page: http://dukeboyd.com/
