Mountain dulcimer virtuoso Robert Force performs live on KZFR

Live in the KZFR studio: Robert Force, possibly the world's finest dulcimer player will be performing with Scenic Roots, a sister duo of Erin and Amber Rogers on fiddle and dulcimer. Wednesday June 5th on American Pastimes (3:00 to 5:00 p.m.)

Robert is also the author of “In Search of the Wild Dulcimer” which contains just about everything you'd want to know about the instrument:  instructions on various ways to tune it, "note" it, chord it, and pick it, along with a complete description of the various musical modes that can be played on it.

Scenic Roots

Scenic Roots (website: scenicroots.com) comes from Kansas and has been touring for the past three years. Erin plays mountain dulcimer and piano, Amber plays fiddle and clawhammer banjo, and both women sing. They graduated from South Plains College’s renowned bluegrass music program in 2010.Erin won the 2004 National Mountain Dulcimer Contest at the age of seventeen. Amber plays a 5 string fiddle.
