California Jobs First HRTC 7/31/2024 meeting canceled

“[The] California Jobs First represents a very intentional, inclusive approach to economic and workforce development,” said Stewart Knox, Secretary of the California Labor & Workforce Development Agency. “By maximizing state resources and investments, the state is empowering communities to chart their own futures in a manner that is inclusive and equitable.[source]”

The North State Region consists of the counties of Alpine, Alamdor, Butte, Calaveras, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Inyo, Lake, Lassen, Mariposa, Mendocino, Modoc, Mono, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity. The High Road Transitional Collaborative (HRTC) is made up of representatives from various businesses, foundations, governmental organizations, and more, to provide insight to the Co-Covening team by creating subcommittees devouted to the topics of: Agriculture/FoodSystems, Health, Education/Youth, Housing, Economic Development, Broadband/Rural Data, Labor, Natural Resources, Tourism/Recreation, Workforce Development, and Tribal.

Below is a message from the Co-Covening team of the North State Region regarding the cancellation of the Wednesday, July 31 in-person and virtual HRTC meeting:

The Co-Convening team is canceling the HRTC meeting scheduled for this Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in Anderson, due to the Park Fire. We feel that it is in the best interest of the region’s safety and need to focus on its immediate needs. Our hearts go out to Butte County, its neighboring communities, and the entire North State, as we navigate another devastating fire. The team will reach out in the near future with updates and next steps.

We hope that everyone remains safe and well during these difficult times. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Thank you and stay tuned for more information.

Take care,

The North State CA Jobs First Co-Convening Team
