Volunteer with KZFR

KZFR began broadcasting the summer of 1990, after years of hard work and grassroots efforts by very dedicated pioneers. For 25 years, KZFR has continued to enlighten, entertain and educate our listeners in support of community... Thanks to the teamwork of our awesome volunteers!

Want to become a KZFR Volunteer?

Awesome! First step is to fill out the Volunteer Questionnaire and send it to Leah (see contact info below). Next step is to attend a Volunteer Orientation. At the orientation you will learn about our Volunteer Policy and what kinds of things we need help with (staffing benefit shows, doing community outreach etc) plus you'll have an opportunity to let us know what special skills you'd like to offer.

The Volunteer Questionnaire...

Please, complete a Volunteer Questionnaire and email/snail-mail/hand-deliver it to us in downtown Chico.

Questions? Please, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Leah T. McKean (530) 864.8202, leahmckean @ gmail.com

This page is not about how to become a Volunteer Programmer. Click here for details on how to start that training process.

We'd be honored if you would vote for us. You'll find us in the Community section of the ballet, of course! There's no Community Radio without You!
To celebrate 35 years of independent community radio, "Mic Check: An Oral History of KZFR" takes listeners behind the scenes of KZFR 90.1 FM’s earliest days.
Youth members of the Boys & Girls Club of the North Valley recently toured the station. Our GM gave them a behind the scenes look at an independent, nonprofit community radio station. Your group could too!
