Gratitude to Our Non-Profit Volunteers

Thank you to EVERYONE who volunteered to staff our phones during KZFR's Fall 2019 pledge drive.

Thank you to all the local non-profit groups (18 in total) who answered the pledge drive phones for 10 days along with dedicated community members, programmers and board members. 

We appreciate you all. Your volunteer time keeps community radio alive and strong!

A special thank you to Catalyst, CHAT, the Paradise Community Guilds and The United Way of Northern California for going above and beyond by staffing many multiple shifts.

Catalyst Domestic Violence Services - "Catalyst is committed to serving the needs of all victims of domestic violence and their children regardless of ethnicity, citizenship, language, religion, physical disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity or HIV status."

Chico Housing Action Team - "The mission of the CHAT is to ensure that every person in our community has access to fair and adequate shelter and sanitation."

Paradise Community Guilds - Newly renamed Paradise Grange is now the Norton Buffalo Hall "Build Community - Support Local Agriculture - Promote Sustainable Living - Education.

"United Way of Northern California - Our mission is to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community.

ARC of Butte County - "ARC is committed to securing for all people with developmental disabilities the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they learn, live, work and play."

Butte Environmental Council - "Our mission is to protect and defend the land, air and water of Butte County and the surrounding region."

Butte Humane Society - "We are one of the oldest non-profit agencies in Butte County, California, working since 1911 to bring humanitarian care to dogs, cats and other animals." 

Chico Area Interfaith Council - "Exists to strengthen bonds among faith groups in service to the community. We provide educational programs to foster public understanding and tolerance, create opportunities for building relationships across lines of difference, and facilitate cooperation on community efforts that reflect the shared values of our diverse traditions.

Chico Friends of the Librarydedicated to supporting the Chico branch of the Butte County Library. We are committed to making our library a place where families and community members can learn and grow.

Concerned Citizens for Justice - To build responsive, transparent and compassionate partnerships between law enforcement / first responders and the community that they serve, based on mutual trust and respect.

Chico Area Punks - sets up shows for the underground D.I.Y. music scene in Chico CA. We focus mainly on Punk (in the most general sense) music, but are open to anything that reflects our political and creative tastes.

Chico Sunrise Movement - We're building an army of young people to make climate change an urgent priority across America, end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics, and elect leaders who stand up for the health and wellbeing of all people.

Doin' It Justice Chorus - A community chorus dedicated to promoting peace and justice, sharing our love of music, improving our singing ability, and inspiring others.

GRID Alternatives - "GRID Alternatives leads teams of volunteers and job trainees to install solar electric systems exclusively for low-income homeowners."

North State Symphony - A professional orchestra dedicated to achieving excellence in musical performance and educational opportunities, while engaging and shaping the cultural life of Northern California.

Safe Space Winter Shelter - providing low-barrier emergency shelter from December through March for people experiencing homelessness in Chico, California.

Sky Creek Dharma Center - "Our mission is to support and sustain the activities of Buddhist sanghas* and offer the Dharma to the community."

Stonewall Alliance - "We are an active resource for the LGBTQ+ community, and we are open, safe, and inclusive for all people. We provide information, advocacy, referrals, and support to those who come to us."
