Rebecca was ordained through the Chaplaincy Institute for Arts and Interfaith Ministries in 2002, did her practicum as an Associate Chaplain at Kaiser Hospital in Walnut Creek, and completed an extended unit of clinical pastoral education (CPE) at UC Davis Medical Center. She has worked as the Cancer Support Program Coordinator at Enloe Cancer Center since 2003, and also served on the Enloe Hospice Spiritual Care Team and the Planetree Spirituality Initiative Team. 2007-2016, she served as adjunct faculty at the Chaplaincy Institute teaching others about community ministry and creating meaningful memorials. Rebecca officiates for weddings and memorials, is co-founder of the Alliance for Support and Education in Dying and Death, is a certified Home Funeral Guide, and is a member of the Chico Friends Meeting (Quakers). Thanks to her handsome husband, Kaz, she has a Turkish last name that is pronounced Shen-O-Loo.
