Choosing what we let in to impact our subconscious is paramount to walk our own path. The power of self practice being that we are the most suggestible to ourselves. Being under the influence of our thoughts thousands of times a day, there are tremendous benefits in choosing them. Coming from a background as a computer engineer his approach is to view the subconscious as building blocks of the persona, that can be chosen and adjusted to find the desired outcome into someone's conscious life. The essence is to give the tools so the mind can be nurtured and mastered the same way that an artist or artisan learns to use his hands. Guillaume is also a Yoga Instructor, bringing him a holistic view on ways to allow for change. </p><p><br></p><p><b>3pm "Food Is Medicine" with Luisa Garza</b></p><p>{image filename="Luisa_sq_toc2025.jpg" align="left" size="small" caption="" link=""}<i>"Talk about wild crafting with care, growing and processing herbs, how food is medicine, that western medicine originated from herbal lore, observation and experience. I grew up in Yosemite N.P. and was also influenced by my two older brothers who studied Botany and Ornamental Horticulture (OH). Plus I always heard stories of my deceased Aunt Hortensia who was an amazing gardener and I thrived on those stories. I have a Bachelor of Science in OH from CSU Chico. My first garden ever was in Chico in 1979 and thereafter I learned canning, drying, and using herbs for healing and cooking. Since then I've grown into wild crafting with care, growing and processing herbs. I rely on intuition and experimentation, studying books and taking classes to continue learning. It helps to always maintain curiosity.</p><h2>A special thank you to each of these presenters for sharing their skills with the community at KZFR's Touch of Chico 2025.</h2>',

Thursday, July 17, 2025, the United States Senate voted to rescind funding to
the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). This decision eliminates
approximately <b>$1.1 billion in CPB funding for fiscal years 2026 and 2027</b>
-- stripping federal support from public media, including NPR, PBS, tribal
radio stations, rural broadcasters, and community stations like <b>KZFR</b>.</p>
<p>KZFR
has proudly received CPB funding since 2008. These grants helped us grow into
the arts and cultural epicenter and trusted source of news and information that
you rely on today. CPB funds are vital to KZFR: they make up approximately 20%
of our annual operating budget.</p>
<p><span>This
loss is about more than just dollars. It’s about what disappears when
independent radio is no longer supported. It’s about losing a space where <b>local
voices matter</b>, where stories are told without corporate filters, and where
our region continues to have a voice on the airwaves.</span></p>
<p><span>In
the <i>Chico Enterprise-Record</i>, <a href="https://www.chicoer.com/2025/06/29/kzfr-celebrates-community-amid-uncertainty/">we
described</a> this moment as a turning point: “Even in the face of federal cuts
and uncertainty, we continue to celebrate the community we serve and the role
that KZFR plays in keeping us connected.” </span></p>

in the <i>Sacramento Bee</i>, <a href="https://www.sacbee.com/news/local/article310908590.html">we made it clear</a>:
Public radio makes America less safe when it disappears,” because in rural
areas like ours, we don’t just play music—we broadcast emergency alerts,
amplify underrepresented voices, and reflect the identity of our region. </span></p>
<p>In
our 35 years of broadcasting, we’ve navigated global recessions, six
Presidential administrations, floods, fires, the COVID pandemic, and countless
challenges to our determination, passion, and commitment to our mission: to
entertain, enlighten, educate, and inform the communities of the North State.</p>

<p>We’re
asking you to stand with us to protect something we’ve built together. Your
contribution sends a clear message: rural communities matter, local voices
deserve to be heard, and independent media is worth preserving.</p>

if you believe in what KZFR stands for, we invite you to share our story—tell
your neighbors, post on social media, and encourage friends and family to tune
