    INDIGENOUS RIGHTS CEREMONY AND CELEBRATION
    Saturday, July 13  7-10 pm
    Chico
    Peace and Justice Center

On July 13th from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Chico Peace & Justice Center people interested in Indigenous Rights to Ceremony, the environment, and music, will gather at the Chico Peace & Justice Center to raise money to support the Winnemem Wintu (a people indigenous to the McCloud River in Shasta County) in their right to perform traditional ceremony. It is necessary that allies support this call to action as the Tribe has faced serious harassment from the locals of the area and the US Forestry Service for decades. The money will be used by the Winnemem Wintu to support allies who attend their upcoming ceremony.

$5 at the door. Beverages will be available for sale at the event! PROGRAM: 7:00pm: Ceremony is Not a Crime film screening and discussion with Ali Meders-Knight, member of the Mechoopda Tribe based in Chico. 8:00: Musical Performance by Big Bill and the Extra Crispies   9:00: Meg Amor in Contemporary Poi & Dance.9:30: Musical Performance by Lush Baby.
