Celebrate sexual and gender identities and relationship expressions during Stonewall Chico PRIDE Weekend from Fri, Aug 23 - Sun, Aug 25!
PRIDE Weekend kicks off Fri, Aug 23 with Pride’s first ever community award show! “The Glammys…Don’t Threaten Us: A Mini Merna Production” features a red carpet, so dress to feel fabulous. Join us at the Chico Women’s Club from 8pm-midnight. The event includes DJ 2k and DJ Allen Plowman. No-Host Bar. $15 suggested donation. 21+ join us at the Maltese Taproom for our official Pride After-Party at 11pm, at 16th St and Park Ave.
Friday night also features a free Teen Dance from 7-11pm at the Boys and Girls Club Chico Teen Center. It’s a safe space for teens to connect, dance, and express themselves proudly. The dance includes indoor and outdoor activities, a DJ, photo booth, food, drinks, games and prizes. Open to ages 13-17.
Pride AIDS Walk/Run, Sat, Aug 24 commences at 8:30am at One Mile. The registration fee is $25 until Aug 24th. The fee will increase to $30 the day of the event. Late registration begins at 7:30am. All proceeds go to the purchase of HIV test kits for free local testing. For more info click here
Pride Festival in the Downtown City Plaza, Sat, Aug 24, 10am-5pm. The festival includes live performances, speakers, vendors, food, dancing, and a no-host bar near the plaza. Music by DJ Darkness. Pride Saturday concludes with the 18+ Pride Dance from 8pm-midnight at the Chico Women’s Club. Enjoy music by DJ Becca Hogue and DJ Eyere. No-Host Bar. $5 suggested donation.
Pride Brunch on Sun, Aug 25 at Oak Grove in Bidwell Park. From 9am-12pm, Leon Bistro is catering an assortment of food and drinks. Breakfast is served to guests for free. Donations accepted.
The mission of Stonewall Chico Pride Weekend is to strengthen and unite the LGBT*Q+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transexual, Two-Spirit, Intersex, Queer, and Questioning) community and allies through public events, social gatherings and educational opportunities. Pride Weekend seeks to improve the lives of everyone by increasing visibility of LGBT*Q+ people and making the North State community a safer place for all.
